What are Cookies
Cookies are small files saved and stored on your computer, tablet, or smartphone while you visit various websites on the internet. A cookie usually contains the name of the website it comes from, the “lifetime” of the cookie (i.e., how long it will remain on your device), and a randomly generated unique number used to identify the browser connecting to the website.
Cookie Policy
1. In connection with providing content of the www.jt.com.pl website, so-called cookies are used, i.e., information saved by servers on the user’s end device, which the servers can read each time they connect to this end device; they may also use other technologies with functions similar or identical to cookies. In this document, information on cookies also applies to other similar technologies used within our websites. Cookies (so-called “cookies”) are IT data, especially text files, which are stored on the user’s end device of the www.jt.com.pl website. Cookies usually contain the domain name of the website they come from, the time of storing them on the end device, and a unique number.
2. Cookies are used for:
- adjusting the content of website pages to the user’s preferences and optimizing the use of websites; in particular, these files allow recognizing the website user’s device and properly displaying the website, tailored to their individual needs,
- creating statistics that help understand how website users use the websites, which allows improving their structure and content,
- maintaining the website user’s session (after logging in), thanks to which the user does not have to re-enter their login and password on every subpage of the website,
- delivering advertising content to users more suited to their interests.
3. Within the www.jt.com.pl website, we may use the following types of cookies:
- “necessary” cookies, enabling the use of services available within the website, e.g., authentication cookies used for services requiring authentication within the website,
- cookies used to ensure security, e.g., used to detect fraud in the field of authentication within the website,
- cookies enabling the collection of information about the way the website pages are used,
- “functional” cookies, enabling “remembering” the settings selected by the user and personalizing the user interface, e.g., in terms of the selected language or region from which the user comes, font size, website appearance, etc.,
- “advertising” cookies, enabling the delivery of advertising content to users more suited to their interests.
4. In many cases, software for browsing websites (web browser) by default allows storing cookies on the user’s end device. Website users can change cookie settings at any time. These settings can be changed, in particular, to block the automatic handling of cookies in the web browser settings or to inform them of each placement of cookies on the user’s device. Detailed information about the possibilities and ways of handling cookies is available in the software (web browser) settings. Failure to change the settings regarding cookies means that they will be placed on the user’s end device, and thus we will store information on the user’s end device and access this information.
5. Disabling the use of cookies may cause difficulties in using certain services within our websites, in particular, those requiring logging in. Disabling the option of accepting cookies does not prevent reading or viewing the content posted on the www.jt.com.pl website, except for those to which access requires logging in.
6. Cookies may be placed on the user’s end device of the www.jt.com.pl website and then used by advertisers, research companies, and multimedia application providers cooperating with the website.
